As I go back and remember the flashback of my past. It was my first grade when I started to read and write. Reading
But when I enter my high school years I begin to love reading because I was influenced by my classmates before. When I saw a book that I really like, my eyes and my body is urging to read that book but when I started to read the first chapter I can the boredom in my body. I always end up reading only in one chapter especially when I don’t like the book I’m reading. Sometimes luckily I finish it but I don’t read all the pages I skipped maybe 3 to 4 pages sometimes a whole chapter.
I read only when my teacher asked me to do so not because I’m lazy in reading but I really want to do something rather than to read a textbook. I really don’t understand myself why do I hate textbooks when in fact textbooks is one of the most important books that a student should read.
When I was having my thesis days in my 4th year highschool me and my groupmates are always reading, writing, and searching because when we cannot finish our thesis on time we cannot graduate. Eventhough I don’t really understand what I am reading I am forced myself to read it but I really cannot concentrate on it because the pressure of graduation was always reverberating in my mind when I read or write something. I rarely prepare before reading and writing.
There was a time when I started to love reading. The first book that I’ve read that I finish without skipping any pages is “Percy Jackson and the sea o monster” I totally love this book. Everytime I read it I feel like I’m part of the story and I am one of the character. And after which I read so already about 3 books. Then I decided to love reading I am really proud of myself now because reading is now my habit. I can say that I’m partially good reader.
